Dear readers!
When a German complains about bureaucracy, it's a bit like Edison being upset that it's so bright. Nevertheless, the bottom line is that the regulatory burden in industry and trade, particularly in this country, is increasing to such an extent that it has already outpaced economic growth and inflation. Keywords such as Industry 4.0, digitalization, globalization, IoT, etc. are increasingly having the concrete effect that companies of all sizes are confronted with additional expenses that seem to be situated far from their core business. Resources are therefore increasingly needed and tied up where companies find themselves outside of their traditional expertise - and where professional support is difficult to obtain in the long term and therefore expensive. While most recently it was cloud applications and cybersecurity, now there is also the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act. In the current issue of P3 we are trying - among many other current topics - to shed some light on the matter, because so far a very specific reaction has come to the fore, especially among small and medium-sized companies: "Doesn't affect me!" In most cases, however, this judgment is only the result of a lack of engagement with the topic. Actually it should be: “No time, no interest, no understanding, no support.” And that could actually become a problem because: It affects you. Pretty sure.
Have a great read & stay safe!
