Enfocus brings latest automation innovations to Hunkeler Innovation days

Automation expert Enfocus is taking its print software solutions on the road once again as it returns to the Hunkeler Innovationdays event in Lucerne, Switzerland.When the biennial event returns to Messe Luzern on February 24-27, attendees who visit the Enfocus booth will have the chance to experience the power of Enfocus solutions – widely regarded as the gold standard of prepress software – for themselves. These solutions include the latest versions of PitStop, Switch, Griffin, Review, and Phoenix, all of which were updated at the end of 2024 with a host of new features, functionality, and integrations to boost productivity and profitability across the print workflow.

In order to increase automation in both saddle stitching and perfect binding, Silber Druck, based in Lohfelden in the German state of Hesse, has invested in two new finishing systems from Muller Martini – a Primera Pro and an Alegro.

Securikett, a provider of product and brand protection solutions, has invested in a Flexcel NX Wide 3548 System with a Flexcel NX Ultra 35 Processor to bring flexo platemaking in-house. The family-owned company, based in Münchendorf near Vienna, Austria, develops and produces security labels and seals for protecting products and packaging against tampering and counterfeiting.

Prinect User Days: Print shops want more automation and rely on hybrid production

Automated production control in a hybrid workflow environment was the focus of the Prinect User Days 2025. More than 300 Prinect users, mostly from Europe, took part in the two-day event, which was held at the Heidelberg Congress Center and the “Home of Print” at the headquarters of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) in Wiesloch-Walldorf. The Prinect User Days are a welcome forum by users for users to exchange information about working with Prinect and the further development of this workflow technology.

Dr. Andreas Pleßke confirmed as chairman of the drupa committee – course charted for the future

“It is a special honour for me to continue to actively help shape the development of drupa as chairman of the drupa committee. The world is changing rapidly – both in technical and political terms. Together with the committee we will ensure that drupa constantly develops further to also assert its pole position as a world-leading trade fair for print technologies in future and to orient the industry for the future,” explains Dr. Andreas Pleßke upon his re-election. His deputy Wolfgang Poppen also stresses: “drupa is the centrepiece of the industry, a place of innovations and technology launches. The coming months will be used intensively to further sharpen the profile of drupa’s position in 2028.”

OE-A elects new international Board of Directors

The members of the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) appointed Dr. Alain Schumacher, IEE, as the new Chair of the Board of Directors at the end of January. Dr. Luke Pan, Brilliant Optoelectronic Technology is the new Vice Chair for Asia. Dr. Carsten L. Herzhoff, Lohmann, and Dr. Chloé Bois, ICI are elected as Vice Chair Europe and North America respectively.
